Blood-sucking insects attacked three districts of the South Kazakhstan region at once. Midges penetrate even through mosquito nets and do not give rest to the villagers either at home or on the street. This is reported by "31 channel".

Every day in Shardara, Otyrar and Arys districts, about fifty people turn to doctors. Mosquito bites cause an allergic reaction in humans. Numerous means of protection do not save.

People are worried about their health, as well as for livestock - blood-sucking insects can carry dangerous diseases.

Experts do not undertake to name the exact reasons for such a massive invasion. However, it is believed that this is due to the emergence of a new hydroelectric power station.

"Akimat of the South Kazakhstan region from the regional budget allocated 7 million tenge for research work. Many letters were written from our side to help us. These are letters to scientific organizations, higher educational institutions of the republic to find some solution to fight with midges," said Bakhtybek Ubaidin, head of the Department of Energy and Housing and Public Utilities for the South Kazakhstan region.

In Pavlodar region, almost 600 million tenge was allocated for the fight against mosquitoes and midges in 2017. In 2016, because of the midges in the region, they wanted to declare a state of emergency.
