Rats from construction sites in the capital attack nearby houses in search of food and shelter
Крысы со строительных площадок столицы атакуют ближайшие дома в поисках еды и укрытия 21.01.2020

Numerous construction sites in the capital are not only a constant source of noise and construction waste, but also an excellent breeding ground for cockroaches, mice and rats. Residents of the Zhagalau 3 microdistrict encountered the latter. Akimat employees and specialists from the RSE at the PVC “National Center of Expertise” of the KKBTU Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan had to deal with the problem

Rats pose a huge danger to humans. They not only spoil your food, belongings and furniture, but can also become a source of dangerous diseases. Thus, rodents are carriers of more than 20 infectious diseases. In addition, rodents are very prolific. The female's pregnancy lasts only 21-23 days, after which 8 to 18 individuals are born. As a result, in just a year the number of rodents can increase tens of thousands of times.

Recently, apartment owners in the capital's Zhagalau 3 microdistrict have been subjected to a massive migration of rats into their yards and houses. According to local residents, the source of the spread of rodents was the construction sites of Elorda Kurylys Kompaniyasy LLP located near residential buildings. After official complaints from residents of the area to government agencies, employees of the akimat of the Yesil district of Nur-Sultan turned to private organizations to carry out deratization of the area (extermination of rodents). But due to the complexity and volume of work, they refused to clear the area.

Therefore, on January 8, 2020, specialists from the RSE at the RPV “National Center of Expertise” of the Committee for Control of the Quality and Safety of Goods and Services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who have extensive experience and the latest drugs to combat dangerous rodents, were involved in the case. As a result, they processed about 10 thousand square meters of the area.

A chemical method was used to lay out poisoned baits - cereal grains or food products that were most attractive to rodents. A feature of these disinfectants is their prolonged action (poisoning does not occur immediately, but after some time). This was done with the aim of misleading cautious animals about the presence of danger in the bait.

After processing the area, there were no further complaints from area residents. However, active construction of new houses continues in the capital at present, and the reoccurrence of such situations in other areas of the capital is not excluded.

In this regard, we remind you that according to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “ On the health of the people and the healthcare system”, owners of buildings, premises and land plots, in order to prevent and prevent emergency incidents, are obliged to carry out disinfestation and deratization at their own expense. In turn, disinsection and deratization of the entire city are carried out by local executive bodies of the city.
